Chris [08 Oct 2006|09:15pm]

"Hey, Kynan, hold up one second! Arashi doesn't exactly look like she's ready to walk around the world right now," Chris began to walk over to Arashi slumped against the wall, "geez, you're so stuck in the future." Chris bent over some to shoulder Arashi and then motioned for Kynan to lend a hand too. As he began to walk to the exit of the cloisters, he started to think about what to do next. As far as he could tell, there was nothing in Bevelle to do. "So we head to the Macalania woods next, right?"

"Congrats." Kynan said with a smile as he started to head over toward the center of the circular area. "I suppose...We'd best leave right now...Don't you think?" He said as he looked on over at the rubble and debris that the dragon had caused earlier. He started walking toward the exit, looking back at the other two and waving them over as he did so.

(Sorry, not much to say. Or...I don't know what to say...That and I got to go soon.)

Arashi [01 Oct 2006|11:35am]

For what felt like ages, Arashi prayed fervently to the Fayth, not stopping until her prayer was answered. Suddenly, she felt a surge of energy as the Fayth granted her the power to summon. She did it...She had finally become a summoner! She weakly got to her feet as the energy left her, drained from her constant prayer. She wasn't sure how long she had been in there, but right now, that didn't really matter. As she exited the small room where she had prayed, she was looking at the floor, being careful not to fall from her weakness. She leaned against the nearest wall as soon as she was out in the main room, a smile on her face. "I...I'm a summoner now."

Slumped against the wall with his head between his knees, Chris waited. Waited, and waited, and waited. All of it seemed so unbearable. How long had she been in there? The fayth continued to play, never stopping, but maybe getting louder. He thought he had heard footsteps, but maybe that was just his own heart, he couldn't hear anything over the fayth. Kynan walked back and forth, or at least looked like he did from Chris' view on the floor. Suddenly he saw the feet stop. He raised his head. The fayth had stopped singing. "Is....is she...done?"

Tylo [25 Sep 2006|06:05pm]

(I know I said that I would update last weekend, but I was busy then, too. So yeah... Here's one to get things going.)

Tylo stepped off of the machina-powered staircase and solemnly walked deeper into the temple. His steps echoed as he looked around, once again spying for any sign of "bad behavior." Soon, he ended up near the entrance of what seemed to be the Cloiser of Trials. He entered.
Looking around in wonder and slight confusion, Tylo walked into the ambience. "It's like a maze," Tylo mumbled. Symbols of Yevon blinked all around him, each as mystifying as the last. Platforms of what seemed to be teleportation portals glowed on the Cloister's leveled floors. Tylo cautiously stepped onto one and it transported him to a higher floor. "Someone's already been here," Tylo commented. "Empty treasure chests and misplaced pedastals... Oh, no..." Tylo realized that that Summoner party he had seen earlier must have just come through.
"Of course...! What was I thinking? And then there's that caped guy..." Tylo's walking turned into a brisk, alarmed jog and he soon found himself at the foot of a staircase. He climbed up and turned towards some damaged rubble. Some 100 Gil lay at the floor, and Tylo picked it up. "Someone must've dropped it," Tylo assumed. Tylo walked slowly towards a circular chamber and browsed around the inside, careful not to enter, just in case.
"It's quiet..." Tylo thought, confused. "Shouldn't the Hymn be able to be heard? It is, after all, a temple..." Before too soon, however, Tylo heard someone talking.
"...Who knew there were monsters in here? I wonder why it was even in here in the first place, or how it got in..." said a male voice. The voice got closer and Tylo even saw the man's blade shine near. Tylo laid low and the man walked away from the entrance, towards the inner chamber's entrance. Soon enough, the Hymn echoed through the walls and Tylo gave out a little gasp as he saw the caped man writhing on the floor. Almost automatically, Tylo saw a woman slowly enter the room through the inner chamber's entrance.

Kynan sighed. "Well, that was certainly random. Who knew there were monsters in here? I wonder why it was even in here in the first place, or how it got in..." He said as he stood by the entrance to the Chamber of Fayth. "We're probably going to have to explain a few things too. Maybe..." He started walking over toward the exit, the place where he saw that other man. He kept a firm hand on the handle of his sword, ready to pull it out if there was a surprise. He stepped out and looked around, seeing nothing out of the ordinary. "Hmm..." He started walking back and soon he heard the Hymn of the Fayth, signifying the fact that Arashi's prayer had been successful. He closed his eyes and leaned against the wall, letting the Hymn soothe his mind. She should be out soon now... He thought.

Arashi [21 Sep 2006|09:35pm]

Arashi watched her friends finish off the monster, then let out a sigh of relief when it burst into pyreflies. Kynan and Chris each drank a potion and then wished her luck. Knowing that her friends were there for her and willing to protect her, she felt a surge of energy. She had grown up with them, and seeing them finish off a monster like that, she knew that she had picked her guardians wisely. With that newfound strength, she nodded and turned, taking a deep breath before walking into the Chamber of the Fayth. This was one place her friends couldn't help her. She had to do this on her own.

Once she entered the small chamber, the door closed behind her. She glanced over her shoulder at the now sealed off exit, then turned forward again. Inside this room was a large insignia embedded under a glass circle on the ground. Arashi figured that that must be where the fayth resided. She waved her hands in the traditional prayer of Yevon, then knelt on the ground before the Fayth and began to pray.

Malfen [20 Sep 2006|09:41pm]

The dragon let out a roar and crumpled to the floor. Just before its form began to disolve into pyreflies, Malfen made a low backflip off of the creature and slipped back out of the room. Hopefully, after all of that commotion, the children wouldn't have noticed him. He put his back to the wall. He was tired. It had been weeks since he had had a meal. He hungered, his thoughts began to drift away from reality and into the nightmarish realm of his ancestors. He breathed heavily, he could smell the childen in the next room, feel them breathing, feel their little hearts beating, pumping blood through their veins. Mal was too tired, from the battle and from the hunger, he couldn't keep himself up. he collapsed against the wall, which was partially crumbled after the dragon had smashed through it. The last thing Mal felt was the girl walking into the Chamber of the Fayth before he lapsed into unconciousness.

Kynan made the finishing strike as pyreflies began to replace the smoke. Chris fell back to the wall and let out a sigh of relief, "How did that thing even get in here? This is a temple...." He shook his head and then proceeded to look around the room. Arashi and Kynan were ok, but wasn't there another person earlier...? He could've sworn that someone had come in with that dragon, but he didn't see him now. The last of the pyreflies had gone when Kynan woke him from his thoughts with a potion in his hand. He took it and drank the rest of it, even though he hadn't gotten that hurt over the fight. Kynan spoke up and nodded over to Arashi. "Good luck, Arashi," Chris said to her with a smile. This was the most dangerous part, but they couldn't go in with her

I suppose we're all too busy with our lives to even have some RP time. It has become a chore to do this, hasn't it? Don't deny it. I mean, if you're going to leave, then at least say so. O_o. But oh well, I guess this time would've come around sooner or later. Although, I guess I didn't expect it to arrive so quickly. I suppose I might just leave soon, for it's becoming a chore to log in and find out that there's no one RPing. Well, we had our....10 or something posts. And it was nice. Don't know if you're all still willing to move on and finish this story once and for all, but if not, then I don't mind. Just let us all know. I'm off to eat now. Bye all.

Kynan [13 Sep 2006|05:30pm]

Kynan quickly covered his eyes as the impact of the bomb sent a white gush of smoke headed his way and soon covering the whole room. He could hear the cry of the dragon as several more pyreflies glowed through the smoke. "Time to die..." He muttered as the smoke cleared, revealing a badly injured dragon. He quickly dashed over to the dragon, his blade drawn, and gave forth a downward slash, injuring the dragon's torso, and thus finishing the dragon off. He sighed as he brought up his sword, wiped it a bit with a cloth, and replaced it inside it's holder. He looked back at the group, feeling slightly stronger, yet weak from the damage at the same time. "Well?...Let's go." He said as he pointed over toward the entrance to the Chamber of the Fayth, the Hymm was loud and clear now without the roars of the dragon. He looked over to Arashi and nodded and then gave a slight motion for her to go in. He then grabbed a Potion and drank it, passing another bottle over to Chris. It was then that he realized that there was a silhouette of another person when the dragon popped in. He looked around to see no sign of the person and then back at the entrance to the Chamber. 'I just hope this gets over quickly...' He thought.

Chris didn't help out much as the cloister of trials flew by. This was really all for Arashi anyway, wasn't it? He patiently waited while spheres were traded and paths were formed so that they arrived in a large circular room. There were designs around the edge of it and on the other side held the entrance to the cloister of trials. Arashi stopped, and Chris held his breath. This was the whole deciding moment. She went forward and he let his breath out in a low sigh.
As soon as that breath came out, the whole room shook violently.
A giant dragon fiend burst from the wall sending stones and shards everywhere. He jumped and ducked on the ground to avoid the debris as a large roar filled him. A shadow next to him moved toward the dragon and struck it on the back. Kynan yelled out and then ran to attack. Chris pulled out one of his daggers and place it in his left hand as Kynan swung his sword into the dragon. Equipped, he ran forward near the belly of the beast. It wasn't paying attention to him, so while dodging its smashing feet, Chris worked to pull of some of its scales for use later. He grabbed a couple of small ones and ran back to the side of the room. A couple of pyreflies had gone up, but the dragon didn't seem like it was going down anytime soon. These scales are useless against it, but maybe I've got something else... He fished around his pockets until his hand came across something that he knew would work, "Everyone, COVER YOUR EYES!" He yelled out and then threw a smoke bomb towards the dragon.

((Just wanna point out that smoke bombs in FFX do damage too :P))

"Alright, now this is a bit more interesting..." He mumbled as he withdrew his sword from it's sheath and held it at his side. "Ready Chris? Arashi?" He asked, although he didn't wait for the answer and charged forward, his sword raised up. He quickly swung it in a downward motion, the first quarter of his sword making it's mark on the beast as one of the glowing pyreflies flew out of the monster, signifying that it was getting close to dying. Angered and frustrated the monster quickly sent a swinging tail at Kynan's side, sending him sliding back across the temple floor and then falling down on his back. He hoisted himself up with the help of his sword and got into position again, waiting for the moment the monster wasn't ready so that he could take a n other swing.

Arashi [27 Aug 2006|04:08pm]

Arashi shivered as a chill ran down her spine. She listened to the voice singing, awestruck by the sheer power she could sense in the song. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment. "Here goes nothing, then..." With that comment, she opened her eyes again and stepped forward, about to enter the room when suddenly there was a huge crashing noise from behind them. She jumped, shocked at the sudden noise, and spun around to see what had just happened. A fiend had burst through the wall and the man who had attacked the guards earlier was right behind it.

Arashi clutched her staff tightly, not sure what to do. "Fiends? Here, in the temple? How can this be?" She suddenly felt a wave of despair flow over her. This couldn't be possible! Why would fiends be in the temple? She looked desperately to her companions, hoping for some answer that she knew she wouldn't find. And to make matters worse, this didn't seem to be just an ordinary fiend. If that man couldn't stop it, she knew that she and her friends would have to finish the job, and if it was too much for the stranger, then it would most likely be much too strong for them. She feared that her pilgrimage might end before it had even started.

Tylo [27 Aug 2006|03:26pm]

"What is he doing now?" Tylo heard himself whisper. Tylo realized he had subconsciously reached the entrance to the temple. He crouched behind a short pedastal, noticing the caped man he had bumped into before. The sinister-looking man slipped through the entrance seemingly unnoticed and disappeared inside.
Alarmed, Tylo crept up to the looming temple entrance and quietly sneaked his way inside the temple, looking back every other step. He looked ahead left and right with no sign of the mysterious man. Here, the temple was lit with a flourescent beam, seemingly coming from nowhere and everywhere at once... Tylo was careful to avoid attention; the monks seemed to have gone to prayer or study.
Suddenly, Tylo heard the subtle thud of a footstep from down a corridor. Several other thuds echoed and Tylo laid low, hoping that the sounds weren't coming from the temple's monks. As the sounds gradually faded away, Tylo stealthily ran through the corridor and deeper into the temple.
"It must be him," Tylo thought. At the end of the corridor was a hallway that led to the left. Tylo walked slowly towards a doorway and crept through. To his immediate left was a huge spiraling staircase...
"Machina? In a temple of Yevon?" Tylo thought to himself. "How hypocritical."

Malfen [27 Aug 2006|03:23pm]

Upon finding the entrance to the Cloister, the warroir boy took the lead and showed the other two the way though the temple. I'll wait here, at least untill they get into trouble. The kids climbed onto a platform and it whooshed them away. This doesn't seem too bad. There don't seem to be many monsters about. I guess I over-reacted. Malfen closed his eyes and leaned back against the wall. Shortly later he heard a soft noise. It wasn't the whispers of the fayth, it was something else... almost a slithering. Suddenly Mal heard a loud growl and a hiss. He popped his eyes open and watched as a large green dragon slithered in the direction that the children's platform had gone. Perhaps i was wrong. This is trouble.  He dropped to the level that the dragon was on. Seems this fiend has made it's home here. That's very odd... Why didn't the Priests mention this? How did it GET here? Mal sighed and followed it. The dragon sniffed the air and growled, increasing it's speed.  Someone smells dinner. Mal heard voices ahead, he had to keep up a base run to stay with the dragon, and suddenly the giant creature smashed through a wall. It found them. "Showtime!" Mal slapped his hands together in front of his body and spawned the guard's spear from before. He used the blunt end as a sort of pole vault and launched himself on top of the dragon, stabbing it in the back on the great downward stroke. It screeched and turned its head to him. "Hey there, anyone ever teach you not to pick on people smaller than you?!"

Kynan [27 Aug 2006|10:42am]

Wonder what this does...Kynan thought when he leaned against it, the stairs in front of him began to fade away except for a bit of it at the top, that bit started shaking a bit. "I suppose we should get on it..." He exclaimed as he stepped on it and the group followed. The stairs then glided down the spiral with ease until they were in front of the entrance which held a pedestial (that had a sphere on it) inside with strange roads. "Let's....Try pushing on this pedestial then..." He said as he pushed it onto the strange ground in front of him. It fell down, but immediately flattened out and turned into a platform. He removed his sword and tapped the platform with it, it made a slight pinging sound, telling the group that it was sturdy and solid. He quickly stepped on to it and looked back at the group. "Strange machina..." He mumbled as he motioned the others to follow. The platform started to move forward, and strang glyphs marked the road. As they passed one of the glyphs that marked right, he slightly raised his hand and the platform descended two levels down, bringing them to a Bevelle Sphere. "Heh...Let's take this..." He said as he removed it and placed it on the pedestial. "Maybe it'll move faster now..." He shrugged, pointing out that there were two Bevelle Spheres on the pedestial. He pushed it on to the road and it turned into a platform once more and they ascended all the way to the top to make a right. They continued moving along to the next glyph, and Kynan motioned to move right. Bad idea. They came to pretty much a dead end.
The group hopped back on the platform and took the left turn this time. Kynan took one of the spheres from the pedestial and inserted it into one of the wall sockets. "Hope this works..." He mumbled as he stepped back to see a glowing line move along and then blast a hole through the wall, revealing a passageway up and out and a treasure chest along the side. "Uh...I'm pretty sure that wasn't how we're supposed to do it...But I guess it works." He shrugged and hopped onto the platform, ascending in a diagonal passageway. At the top they found a HP Sphere and a Knight Lance. "I suppose if you just use this sphere, it will explode and you'll absorb it's magical energies...I've only seen a few people use these before...So...Anyone want it?..." He shrugged. He didn't need it at the moment. "If you do, let me know...Or...I'll just let Arashi hold on to them." The group continued until at least they enter a circular room. "I think this is it..." He said quietly, listening as a little boy was singing the Hymn of the Fayth. He pointed to a door ahead. "I think that's it, Arashi."

Chris [27 Aug 2006|01:22pm]

After dropping off the guards Chris walked across a large path with nothing underneath it but the sky it seemed. It led to a dome shaped building with a moat around it and fountains shooting water up on both sides of the dome's entrance. "wow...this place is beautiful..." he let out with awe. It probably didn't look like much to the others, but after being in the slums so long, this place looked amazing. As he entered the doom, everything became darker, even though it was full daylight outside. "Huh...?" Chris looked around taking in the surroundings. They were in the Dome all right, but this place was dark and almost kind of menacing. A humongous spiral of stairs laid to the left of him, and after looking over the railing, Chris couldn't even see to the end of the stairs. Just shadows and mist. "Whaaat?! We've gotta walk down all these stairs?!" He let out a sigh and took a step back, "No wonder the cloister of trials are said to be so demanding and dangerous. We're going to die from exhaustion before we even make it to the bottom...."
